John 4:34-36
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Don't you have a saying, 'It's still four months until harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.
As we contemplate what we are going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner today, let's also remind ourselves of these words that Jesus spoke. “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work."
Doing the Father's will was everything for Jesus. Let's also remain in our Heavenly Father's will.
Let us open our eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest, as Jesus said. Let us work for God's kingdom and harvest a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper can be glad together. Praise God.
