Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-39

The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. (Isaiah 26:7)

Fact or fiction; this statement from Isaiah? Not only during the prophet's times, even now, the Christian's journey can be bumpy, so the statement seems like a paradox.

The fact remains that God can make the way of the righteous smooth. Among the many "I will" statements by God, this one sounds great....
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. (Isaiah 42:16)

Yes, God can make rough places smooth, because he is Almighty. There are seasons in every believer's life, where the path that they walk in may not be level and their ways not be smooth, but God is able to remove the hindrances and make their path level and their way smooth.

The one point that stands out in the title verse here is that God is the "Upright One".
The Psalmist sang with confidence....
"The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him." (Psalm 92:15)
Since he is upright, he watches over them who are upright too and grants them victory.....
He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.....(Proverbs 2:7)

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-38

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. (Isaiah 26:4)

Very prominent in this verse is the word "Lord". It's used thrice, emphasizing the importance of him, who, we must learn to trust. He is "the rock eternal"; unshakable, yet moved with compassion often.

Many a time, we lean on our our own understanding and fall in to traps, but the Bible exhorts us in this manner...
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5, 6)

Joshua, the son of Nun, led the Israelite's through the wilderness after the death of Moses. He won a great victory at Jericho when he followed God's plans. God specifically told him how he could defeat his enemies there and when he did as God said, God gave him a great victory.

David, the Psalmist sang......
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. (Psalm 37:5, 6)

Does your righteousness shine like the dawn and the justice of your cause like the noonday sun?

God loves them who commit their ways to him and trust in him. The Lord, the Lord himself, the rock eternal, will always guide such and they will rejoice in the victories he gives them.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-37

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. (Isaiah 26:3)

In this world full of turmoil, perfect peace is a rarity and only achievable to those whose minds are steadfast and trusting in God. Those who do not trust in God are often crushed by the harsh realities of life and some take their own lives. But God loves them who trust in him and believe in the sin atoning sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ. He lives with them and his Holy Spirit encourages them despite failures, imperfections and tragedies.
The Bible says,
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:5)
What an amazing thing! God pours out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.
The Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, gives peace to them who trust in him.
As he told his disciples once,
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27)
Perfect peace does not mean a trouble free life; it means peace during the troubles of life.
Perfect peace is yours, if the Prince of Peace is your Savior.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-36

Isaiah 25:9 NIV
In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

Those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will find salvation and eternal joy. He is the Savior of all who come to him with a contrite heart and submit their lives in to his hands.
Regarding "trusting in the Lord", we read in the book of Proverbs....
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5, 6)
Many lean on their own understanding and do not acknowledge him, even though he repeatedly makes known to them the salvation available through him.God wants to make our paths straight, so that we may live with him in eternity; but for that, we must trust in him with all our hearts and acknowledge him in all our ways.

We read in Psalm 125......
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. (Psalm 125:1, 2)
God is a shield and refuge for those who trust in him, he gives them salvation and eternal joy. Blessed are they who trust in him wholeheartedly.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-35

Isaiah 25:7-8 NIV
On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.

What a time it will be when all the above prophesies are fulfilled.  Christ, of course, has swallowed up death forever and those who believe in his atonement for sins and live for him will beat death eventually. Their fleshly bodies may perish, but their spirit and soul will live forever with their Savior and Lord in eternity.

John, the Apostle, writes in the book of Revelation........

Revelation 21:3-4 NIV
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

The old order of things will pass away sometime in the near future. Are you prepared for the new? Blessed are you if you are; if you are not, this is the time for things to change in your life. Jesus is waiting for you.
