Solomon, son of David, king of Israel, writes about how everything in life finally seemed worthless or futile to him. God had been gracious to him and blessed him in every way, but he had made light of God's blessings by going in to idolatry to please his numerous wives, incurring the wrath of God.
We must never take for granted God's various blessings upon our lives, nor must we make light of his directions for us to live a godly life.
The world and it's lusts will pass away, but he who does the will of God will live forever. (1 John 2:17)
