The Psalmist exudes confidence when he says that he will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. That's because he knows that the Lord can make that happen. If he was basing the statement on his righteousness, it would be untrue, but when we read the Psalm, we see him acknowledging the work of God in his life. And each of us who have trusted in the Good Shepherd Jesus can rest assured that he can take us through this life and get us to our heavenly abode when the time comes. That dwelling will be ours for ever.
