Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-12

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him..the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.. ( Isaiah 11:2) (NIV)

How wonderful it is when the Spirit of the Lord rests upon a person. Here Isaiah details many qualities of the Spirit of the Lord....wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and fear of the Lord. These were very obvious in the life of Jesus as he went about proclaiming the kingdom of God.
The Spirit of God empowers as no one else can. Jesus said, "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” ( Luke 11:13) (NIV)
Lets then pray for more power from on high.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-11

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. ( Isaiah 11:1) (NIV )

A prophesy that is fufilled in Jesus Christ. He was born at God's appointed time fulfilling many other prophesies made regarding him 100's of years before his birth. After 33 and 1/2 years of living on earth and proclaiming the kingdom of God and salvation through him in the last 3 and 1/2 years, he was crucified and later resurrected as prophesied. He is all set to come back as is written in the Word of God, the Bible.
Those who believe in his atoning sacrifice on the cross must wait eagerly for his coming. It will happen and another glorious prophesy will find fulfillment.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-10

A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God.
( Isaiah 10:21) (NIV )

A God who knows the end from the beginning...how awesome. Whoever you are and wherever you are in the world this moment, he knows everything about you; your beginning and your end are all before him.
Omnipotent, Omnipresent & Omniscient is the Triune God...God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ & God the Holy Spirit.
What a great privilege it is to know and serve the Almighty God.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-9

Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us. (Isaiah 8:10) (NIV)

The strategies and plans of the enemy will not stand against God's people, because God is with them and he is their refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
For a while, it may seem that the enemy is winning, but that will not last for long, because God will arise and shatter the enemies of his chosen ones.
The battle is the Lord's and the victory is for God's people.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-8

The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is only Remaliah’s son. If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all. ( Isaiah 7:9 NIV)

The message here is that neither Israel nor Aram had God as their leader in those days, only Judah had and if God was in charge, what could any foe do? Standing in the faith per se was not assurance for victory, but standing firm in the faith. And so it is now for believers of Jesus Christ in this generation too. We must stand firm in the faith, fixing our eyes on Jesus and following in his footsteps.  The Holy Spirit will guide all who make this their aim in life.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-7

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” (Isaiah 6:5) (NIV)

Realization of one's utter helplessness without the mercies of the Creator is often missed by many until God reveals himself to them.  The awesomeness of God dawns late in many people's lives because their spiritual eyes are blinded by mere mortals and things of the world, abetted by Satan of course.
The prophet Isaiah here has a fresh revelation of God Almighty and it changed his entire outlook towards God and life. His response to God's  “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? ” was immediate and definite. He said, “Here am I. Send me!”
