I will go anywhere provided it be forward

Dr. David Livingstone, the great missionary and explorer of Africa, lived a life of courage, faith, and service. One of the most inspirational incidents from his life occurred during his mission in Africa when he was attacked by a lion. While protecting the people of a village from the animal, the lion sprang upon him and crushed his arm. Though severely injured, Livingstone’s first thought was not for himself but for the safety of others. His compassion and bravery reflected his deep faith in God’s protection and purpose.

After recovering, Livingstone did not abandon his mission. Instead, he continued to travel through dangerous lands, bringing medicine, education, and the message of Christ to people who had never heard it before. His perseverance despite pain and hardship is a powerful example of faith in action. Livingstone once said, “I will go anywhere, provided it be forward.”

His unwavering trust in God reminds us of the Bible verse:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
Even in the darkest jungles, facing sickness, loneliness, and danger, he held firmly to God’s promises. His life also reflected the truth of another verse:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

Dr. David Livingstone’s courage and faith continue to inspire people to live selflessly, trust God fully, and press forward in the face of trials.
