Daily Bible Blessing - 85

DBB-85

"Go and look toward the sea," he told his servant. And he went up and looked. "There is nothing there," he said. Seven times Elijah said, "Go back." (1 Kings 18:43)

If the Elijah's stop praying, miracles won't happen, that's for sure. If you are called to be one who intercedes for others or for your city or nation, please do not stop praying, even if you do not see any signs of a change. The miracle will happen and that's for sure.

3 years back, the prophet Elijah had proclaimed to Ahab, the king of Israel: "As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word."(1 Kings 17:1) And it was so.

As the years passed, the land was devastated because of the resultant drought. After a long time, in the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah: "Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land." (1 Kings 18:1)

Here was a promise...a promise for the good. With God's promise with him, Elijah again proclaimed to the king, "Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain." (1 Kings 18:41) So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. As we read in the title verse, Elijah asked his servant seven times, to go check for any signs of rain. The first six times, the servant saw no signs and he reported to his master the same. But the seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea." So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, 'Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.'" Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. (1 Kings 18:44, 45)

God will fulfill his promises to you and me. But we must pray and also watch for signs of the miracle that is to happen. It will happen and no one can stop it, provided we persist in prayer.
