Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-42
Isaiah 26:12 NIV
Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
A different kind of peace; one that stays put, during the storms of life, is what God gives to them who trust in him.
To say that God fights for us against our enemies is a fully time tested fact and he is the one who establishes peace for us.
Job, the Old Testament saint lost almost everything he had including his health because of the repeated attacks of satan, yet God eventually established peace for him and gave him much more than he had at first.
Isaiah, the prophet acknowledges that whatever Israel had accomplished was God's doing and he glorifies God for it.
We may achieve many things in life, but we must never forget that it is only because of God's goodness in our lives that we are able to do it.
When Israel was about to enter the promised land after trekking 40 years through the wilderness, God told them that he was going to prosper them in the new land, but also warned them not to become proud and haughty.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 NIV
You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
Let us then, as believers, always acknowledge that it is only the grace of God and his goodness that keeps us going in this strife torn world.
Psalm 100:5 NIV
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-41
Isaiah 26:9 NIV
My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
Yearning and longing for the Lord......Is this how we can describe our life?
If yes, how blessed a life that is.
Thirsting for God like the psalmist sings in Psalm 42....
If yes, how blessed a life that is.
Thirsting for God like the psalmist sings in Psalm 42....
Psalm 42:1-2 NIV
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
No better refreshing experience than meeting with God, though we may not see his bodily form. Waiting and meeting him at his appointed time.
But often we tend not to wait because of the busyness of life.
But often we tend not to wait because of the busyness of life.
Psalm 5:3 NIV
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
Waiting expectantly for the one with faith knows that he will surely come.
We must earnestly seek him as the Psalmist did....
Psalm 63:1 NIV
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
Psalm 63:1 NIV
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
We can find fulfillment in life despite all our troubles and sorrows by being in constant fellowship with the Almighty.
Psalm 27:8 NIV
My heart says of you, “Seek his face! ” Your face, Lord, I will seek.
My heart says of you, “Seek his face! ” Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Let this be our decision too.

Bible Blessing-145
I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. (Leviticus 26:9)
How blessed it is when God looks on us with favor and it is so for all who have been chosen by him to be a part of his heavenly kingdom.
Here God promises the Israelites who were in the wilderness that he was going to make them fruitful and increase their numbers and also that he was going to keep his covenant with them.
We too need favor of God in these difficult times that the world is going through. At the present moment there are more than 50 million people living in refugee camps and some without even these kinds of shelter.
Amidst all the chaos around us, God is still able to make us fruitful and will maintain his love and faithfulness with those who have placed their trust in Jesus.
In a godless generation in the ancient past, we read of one man finding favor with God. The Bible says,
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. (Genesis 6:8, 9)
Are you walking with God? If so, you will find favor in his eyes and he will make you fruitful.
An exhortation from the writer of Proverbs tells us exactly how we can find favor with God and with men....
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. (Proverbs 3:3, 4)
Let's take this exhortation to heart and find divine favor and be fruitful always.

Thoughts from the book of Isaiah-40
Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. (Isaiah 26:8)
A faithful believer will make known the name of Jesus Christ to others; his renown will be the desire of such a person's heart. Are we being faithful in this task? is a question we must ask ourselves time and again. Of course, many may excuse themselves saying, they are not gifted for this. But that's a very lame excuse. Our testimony of how Jesus has loved us and of his saving and healing grace itself can work wonders in another person's life.
The Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians,
For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. (2 Corinthians 2:15)
Acknowledging Christ before others, especially among them who are perishing, is so very important. We do it, not because of compulsion by others, but because we love Jesus and how he sacrificed all for our sake.
John, the Apostle, writes,
The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. (1 John 1:2)
In our generation, God is seeking men and women who will proclaim what he has done for them through Jesus Christ.
God will strengthen with the Holy Spirit, them who are willing to step out of their comfort zone or fear zone and proclaim his name and renown.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. (2 Corinthians 2:14)
Praise God.

Bible Blessing-144
Leviticus 23:42-43 NIV
Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
What we read above are the instructions given by God Almighty to the Israelites regarding the Feast of Tabernacles.
Leviticus 23:39-41 NIV “So beginning with the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the crops of the land, celebrate the festival to the Lord for seven days; the first day is a day of sabbath rest, and the eighth day also is a day of sabbath rest. On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees-from palms, willows and other leafy trees-and rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. Celebrate this as a festival to the Lord for seven days each year. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come; celebrate it in the seventh month."
In this context, all Christian believers must remember that they also are living in temporary shelters here on earth. Perhaps in our lifetime we may move in to different houses at several junctures of our life, but we must always look forward to our permanent home which is Heaven.
Regarding Abraham, the author of Hebrews writes, Hebrews 11:9-10 NIV "By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God."
O, what a day that will be when each one of us for the first time beholds that city whose architect and builder is God!
Revelation 21:1-3 NIV
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God."
O believer in Christ, you have a future in heaven for sure, there in those mansions sublime. So, be strengthened this day and praise God.

Christian Tidbits-2- Small gospel tracts have great hidden power
Hudson Taylor, founder of China Inland Mission and British missionary to China, labored for more than 50 years in that mission field, seeing 1000's coming to Christ and also paving the way for over 800 missionaries to go there. He was born to Christian praying parents, a Methodist couple, who had prayed that if God gave them a son, he should be called to serve in China to evangelize that nation. This he knew only after 7 years of laboring in that land. Interestingly he did not walk in their footsteps early in life and finally thought that he could not become a Christian. But God had great plans for him. One day when he was 15 years old, he happened to browse through the books in his father's library and chose a gospel tract which he thought would be interesting, deciding only to read only the story part of it and leave out exhortation part. As he read the tract, his heart was touched deeply by the part of a sentence which spoke of "The finished work of Christ."And everything changed inside of him, as the Holy Spirit made him understand the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross. He was born again and served Christ faithfully till the end of his life.
Thought...Never underestimate the power in a small tract....never hesitate to give one if you have a chance.

Christian Tidbits-1
Have you heard of Claudia Procula or Saint Procula? Probably not. But if I introduce her to you as Mrs. Pontius Pilate, she would sound familiar i.e. if you are a Christian and one who has read the Gospels in the Bible. She is the unnamed wife of Pontius Pilate that we read of in the Gospel of Matthew....
While Pilate was sitting on the judge's seat, his wife sent him this message: "Don't have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him."(Matthew 27:19)
Pilate did not heed the warning though.
Origen, the early Christian theologian suggested that Claudia had become a Christian. The name "Claudia" appears only once in the New Testament, in the 2 Timothy 4:21: Eubulus greets you, and so do Pudens, Linus, Claudia and all the brothers. "Procula" is recognized as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
