Simple Thoughts On Promises- 88

Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior. (Psalm 24:3-5)

Very similar to Psalms 15 where the Psalmist asks and then answers:
LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken. (Psalm 15:1-5)

And in the book of Revelation we read,
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

Even liars are out...Some would say that's not a sin that equals idolatory or murder or sexual immorality. Well, one can't change what's written in the Word of God.

In Psalms 15 we read the same...who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue....

For some believers, lying is a habit and they do it for small things and for big. They do not realize that the Spirit of God who resides in them is the Spirit of Truth and that he abhors lying.

Jesus prayed to the Father for his disciples:
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17)

Jesus wants each one of us to sanctify ourselves with his Word and the Holy Spirit. Why?? Only for 1 reason...He prays,
"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. (John 17:24)

May the Lord help us all to join him and see his glory when the time comes. Praise the Lord.
