START YOUR DAY RIGHT-14/05/2016

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him. Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. They were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?" Looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large. Entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed. And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him. (Mark 16:1-6)

The woman here had a great desire to go and anoint the body of Jesus Christ; so very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb where they saw a problem ahead of them. They asked each other, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb?” After Jesus was crucified and kept in the tomb that belonged to Joseph of Arimathea, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate; “Sir, they said, we remember that while he was still alive, that deceiver said, after three days I will rise again. So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worst than the first.” “Take a guard”, Pilate answered, “ Go make the tomb as secure as you know how. So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard. The chief priest and the Pharisees made the tomb very secure thinking that what Jesus had said about rising on the third day wouldn’t come true. But we see that Jesus rose up from the dead. Even before going to the cross, he had told Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life.”

The chief priests and the Pharisees had made the tomb secure by placing a very large stone and then sealing the tomb. And that’s why the woman thought that they had a problem ahead of them as they were going to the tomb. And so they asked each other, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb?” But then God had already done a great miracle there. The stone had been rolled away even before they reached the tomb. Sometimes we wonder about the problems that are there in our lives and wonder how they will be solved. But then we must remember that God is able to do great miracles for us at any time. Jesus who said that he is the resurrection and the life, is able to do great things for you and me. Here the woman thought that they had a problem ahead of them. But God had gone ahead of them and removed the problem from their lives. The stone that was very large was rolled away. And as they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side and they were alarmed. They saw an angel and he said, “Don’t be alarmed, you are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene who was crucified. He is risen.”

The great news for you and me is that Jesus has risen from the dead. And as he told his disciples, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth." Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And he loves you with an everlasting love. Stay in his love. He is able to do great things for you too. Remember that he is the resurrection and the life. And all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. Thank him for your miracle this day. Jesus said, “When you pray, believe that you have received what you have asked for in prayer and it will be yours.” So believe and see your miracle come true.
